3D Mattress Lab

Build the bed that fits your body

Tell us how you sleep, your weight and what hurts. The model sets the mattress, the slatted base and the pillow, then shows how each layer carries you, where the pressure goes and what happens to your spine.

Loading the 3D model…

Simplified physics for illustration, not a test of any product. Segment masses from Winter (2009), Biomechanics and Motor Control of Human Movement. Foam stiffness values are typical ranges; real foams are non-linear. Weight bands and the H scale are industry conventions. Trials and reviews favor medium-firm surfaces for comfort, spinal alignment and nonspecific low back pain (see the evidence). Because bodies differ, buy with a long home trial.

How the lab works

The lab spreads your body weight over the mattress by body segment, works out how far each foam layer compresses, and draws the result: how far your shoulder and hip sink, the angle of your spine and where pressure peaks. The bedroom settings and sleep times feed a simulated night that shows how heat, stale air, noise, light and pain can break up sleep.

It is a teaching model, not a test of any product. Use it to understand the trade-offs, then read how to choose a mattress and buy with a long home trial.
